BBU: Making A Module Live

*NOTE This guide was updated on the 15th of January 2025. Please note that some features or instructions may differ slightly from the current version due to regular SaaS updates.

Introduction

When a module is created, it is created in a “closed” state. It will remain in this state until it is manually switched on. This gives the teaching team time to prepare the module and ensure it is ready for the students to start engaging with. The purpose of this guide is to go through the process of opening up a module.

To open a module, you need to access the Course Settings panel, which can be done from two different places.

Option One – From the Modules Page

  1. From either grid view or list view, click the three dots next to the module in question.
  2. Click Course Settings from the pop up menu.

Option Two – From within the Module

  1. In the top right hand corner of the module, click Course Settings.

Course Settings

  1. Once inside Course Settings, it will tell you if the module is Open or Unavailable.
  2. If it is unavailable, scroll down to where it says Close Course.
  3. Click the green tick directly underneath Close Course.
  4. The Unavailable status will change to Open.
  5. Click the orange X in the top left of the screen to exit the Course Settings panel.

The module is now open and available to students.
